Frequently asked questions

Can't find your answer here? Contact dispatch.

Is Recovery Medical Transportation an ambulance or emergency service?

No. We provide non-emergency medical transportation only. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.

How far in advance should I book a ride?

We recommend requesting your ride as early as possible so our dispatch team has time to review availability. For urgent same-day needs, call dispatch directly.

Does submitting the booking form guarantee my ride?

No. Submitting the form or paying the booking deposit starts the request process. Your ride is only confirmed once our dispatch team reviews your request and contacts you directly.

What is the booking deposit for?

The deposit reserves your transportation request while dispatch confirms availability. It is applied according to our transportation and cancellation policies, which are linked from the booking form.

What kind of mobility equipment can you accommodate?

Our booking form asks about canes, walkers, manual wheelchairs, and power wheelchairs so we can match you with an appropriate vehicle. Contact dispatch if you have equipment questions before booking.

Can a caregiver or companion ride along?

Yes, seating permitting. Let us know in the booking form how many companions will be traveling with the passenger.

Do you provide transportation outside of Chicago Heights?

We serve Chicago Heights and a number of surrounding south suburban communities, and can accommodate some longer-distance medical trips. Contact dispatch to confirm we can serve your specific pickup and destination.

Is this booking form HIPAA compliant?

Please do not enter diagnoses, insurance member IDs, Social Security numbers, or detailed medical history in any field. Only share the mobility and scheduling details needed to arrange transportation.
